Jon I don't personally put much stock in any article. I figure it this way - it's my money, they don't care about it. I heard a real smart sounding guy on CNBC 2 weeks ago saying apple was going to trade sideways for the next 2-3 months. The next day it took off, traded up to 160, then retraced a bit, only to take off again and today it's closing over 168. My technical analysis consistently outperforms any article.
Here's what I DO appreciate from articles. They can show overall sentiment. I never place a trade based on what I read in an article - that's foolish - but if the technicals show bullish and an article also shows bullish, it's just that much stronger of a confirmation in the bullish direction. If however technicals show bullish and some analyst is touting bearishness, it doesn't mean the stock is actually bearish. It can indicate that a little more bullishness is needed to confirm the bullish move, but that's about it. I say never trust anyone with your money and learn to do your own analysis. That's when YOU are controlling your money.
